Peter is a highly experienced Strategic Change Director with a track record of leading successful £multi-million board level transformation programmes. He has worked in the Defence, Healthcare, Education and Charity sectors helping senior executive teams achieve their change objectives.

Peter believes in the positive strategic impact that good leaders can have and is passionate about enabling executive teams to extend their performance and reach. He has coached and mentored at a senior level and taught strategy and operations. With an open and engaging style, Peter provides a stimulating environment that will motivate delegates to get the most from their development programme.

Peter was in the British Army for 20 years. He specialised in communications but occupied a wide variety of command and staff roles at home and overseas, and for five years had the privilege of serving with Gurkhas.

In 2000 he joined Hampshire Training and Enterprise Council as Partnerships Director, and then Operations Director. In this role he helped establish one of the largest local Learning and Skills Councils in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

In 2002 Peter went to London South Bank University to help the then newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Professor Sir Deian Hopkin, with a recovery and subsequent Strategic Development Plan. Key areas of work were a c£50m capital investment plan, the establishment of a strategic fundraising capability and a c£3m programme of change projects to improve operations.

In 2009 Peter set up Strategy Management Services Limited, an interim management consultancy specialising in strategic change. Clients include The University of Cumbria, The Treloar Trust, St John’s Church Waterloo and Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Assignments have included strategic reviews and business planning as well as programme and project management, and support to senior executives.

Peter has served as a board member to Southampton Regeneration Partnership, Lambeth Southwark & Lewisham NHS Local Initiative Finance Trust and the Thames Gateway London Partnership. He is a graduate of the Joint Services Command and Staff College and MBA.
