Sarah has worked at a senior level in Human Resources for over 20 years and across public, charity and private sectors.
Sarah is a Psychodynamic Therapeutic Counsellor and a registered Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy. Following a successful career in Human Resources Sarah decided to retrain as a Counsellor and is currently working as a psychodynamic counsellor at the Rock Clinic in Brighton and in private practice.
She was previously a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of People Management with in depth experience in employee relations, organisational change and coaching and mentoring at senior level on all aspects of people management.
Sarah’s most recent corporate role was as the Director of Human Resources for HCA International (the largest independent hospital group in London) where she led the HR strategic direction of the Group to achieve award-winning success in the healthcare industry.
Sarah worked initially in Local Government and then spent ten years in the NHS implementing numerous high profile change management programmes and managing the associated employee relations issues in a fast-paced and often complex environment. Sarah’s last role in the NHS included advising the Chief Executive and Trust Board on HR policy and strategy to support the achievement of business objectives.
In 1999 Sarah moved to the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) – an international non-governmental organisation and the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the world. She managed the Personnel function relating to all UK and International staff employed by the Association. This included a Brussels Office and residential centres in Mexico, India, Switzerland and London.
Sarah’s unique blend of HR and counselling skills and experience lends itself to an in-depth understanding of human behaviours in working relationships and workplace situations, including conflict in the workplace and the pressures leaders face.
